How to Repurpose Shoeboxes

Lately I've been eyeing quite a bit of office supplies as I plan out my new instagram and pinterest inspired desk area in my soon-to-be new apartment. My favorite's include Kate Spade office supplies but I can't see myself paying $40 for office storage boxes even if they are really cute with gold trim. Instead, I turned back to my DIY roots and remembered the endless number of shoeboxes I have in my closet (most with unworn shoes I must admit). So alas my latest project has unfolded and turned out quite cute if I do say so myself.

How to Make Sharpie Mugs the Right Way

So sharpie mugs are definitely nothing new to the crafting and Pinterest world but most people don't know the secret to making them actually work: Oil based Sharpies! They are relatively inexpensive and pretty much the best way to make the sharpie image last on your mug.

If you're new to my blog, I've mentioned that my husband and I are planning on moving in April so I am getting rid of all the old decor and furniture I don't want and racking up on new items. Thus, I have ran across a nice queue of decor shops that are best suited for my fellow 20-somethings.

How to Paint Furniture White

When I moved into my first apartment, I headed over to Ikea and bought all the basic black furniture I could find. Three years later, and I realize how much I hate black furniture. While its nice to have for certain pieces in the apartment, all black just makes the apartment look smaller. So I decided that instead of buying all new furniture, I would turn my new love for white furniture into a diy. Not only do you save a TON of money by painting your own furniture, you can also customize it by adding decorative knobs. After some research, I found that painting your own furniture is also fairly easy.
